2024: Powering the movement for an equal world
It was a year of momentum. FIA and our members across the Global South proved the power of collective action to challenge inequality, focusing world attention on a vision for our economies and societies re-made from the bottom up.
2024: A year of people power
Work continued apace through the year and towards year-end, FIA and allied organisations contributed to an historic G20 agreement on the introduction of a global tax on the super rich. We took financial system reform to the top of the agenda alongside debt, tax, and inequality.
Shifting policy to improve lives
FIA campaigns achieved significant wins. In Mexico, our pressure opened the door to constitutional tax reform. In India, a 100-day campaign defended electoral rights, contributing to democratic shifts. Challenges lie ahead. Inequality is intensifying globally. But we have showed how collective power contributes to system change.
